PALM COAST - Samuel R. "Ace II" Daniels, 67, of Westminster Drive, who retired as a police officer in Chicago in 1990 after 30 years of service, died July 11 at Piedmont-Fayette Community Hospital, Fayetteville, Ga. 

Mr. Daniels, a native of Eupora, Miss., came here in 1995 from Chicago. He attended Xavier University, New Orleans, and was a graduate of Chicago State University. He also retired from Illinois High School Umpire Association and as a supervisor of security with the Illinois School Board. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and Eagle Golf Club. 

Survivors include his wife, Angela; two sons, Dale, Jacksonville, and Darryl, Park Forest, Ill.; a daughter, Samantha Daniels, Chicago; a sister, Marcella Greene, Lynwood, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Roy Davis Funeral Home, Austell, Ga., is in charge.
