Manuel P. DaSilva ("Manny"), 80, of Flagler Beach, FL, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. Manny was born on September 19, 1937, in Veiros, Estarreja, Portugal, the son of Manuel Pereira DaSilva and Balbina da Conceicao.

Manny worked as a laborer and supervisor for Wade Construction Company in New Jersey for several years. Manny subsequently owned and operated his own general contracting business, DaSilva and Son's Contractors, Inc. in Cranford, NJ. After his retirement, Manny moved from Cranford, NJ, to Flagler Beach, FL, where he built numerous residential homes in Flagler Beach.

Manny was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, the Heavy & General Laborers Union # 472, and the Portuguese American Culture Center of Palm Coast, FL.

Manny enjoyed fishing, dancing with his wife Selma at every function they attended, telling endless humorous life stories to everyone, and also enjoyed watching Fox News.

Manny is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Selma Assuncao Lima, whom he married on October 11, 1958.

Manny leaves behind two sons; Manuel DaSilva Jr. married to Deborah DaSilva, of Watchung, NJ., and John Lima DaSilva, married to July Alves DaSilva, of Cranford, NJ.; four grandchildren, Carly DaSilva, Taylor Marie DaSilva, Gabriel Emmanuel DaSilva and Victoria Caroline DaSilva; two sisters, Maria Adelinda DeOliveira of Flagler Beach, FL, Maria Emilia Rodrigues of Beverly Beach, FL; and one brother, Bernardino Pereira of Port St. Lucie, FL.

Family and friends will be received Monday, September 10, 2018, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens
