On December 30, 2022, our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, friend and sister was called home to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 65.
Monica Yvonne Davis, was born on April 1, 1957 in Clarendon, Jamaica West Indies to the late Mr. Lewis and Pearline Allen and raised by her grandmother Emily Grant.
She migrated to the United States in March of 1974, where she moved to New York City. In New York, she attended college, ran track, and took interest in nursing. Monica had four beautiful children who she dedicated her life to. In 1993, she moved her family to Maryland to raise her children in a better environment, throughout the years she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant and worked with special needs children. She later moved to Florida where she was the Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor and was able to be closer to her grandmother and parents and later on met Floyd Davis and they married in 2012. Monica was such a sweet soul who enjoyed her Soap Operas’, tending to her plants, cared for all people and loved helping others in need, shopping, spending time with family, cooking, was a dedicated and faithful member to her church and community, anyone who ever came in contact with her truly adored her because you were sure to receive a gift of her kindness.
She leaves behind four children, Monique, Mark, Leniqueca and Lenford Jr., two grandchildren Shaun Jr. and Swae’, her beloved husband Floyd Davis, her step-father Herbert Allen, sister Janet Bolden, brothers Bentley Allen, Clinton Allen and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly she is preceded by her grandmother Emily Grant, mother Pearline Allen and brother Keith Allen. We were honored to have her on this earth with us for 65 beautiful years and we will continue to honor her legacy. May she finally rest in eternal peace.
We want to extend our appreciation for all the prayers, support, love and concern during this difficult time. Our prayer is that you all stay in good health and keep your family close, may God continue to bless you all.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, where services will be held at 11:00 am with Rev. Vannoy officiating.
