Felicitas “Fely” Denuna went home to Jesus on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Fely was born to Antonio and Vicenta Derla on March 7, 1931, in the Philippines. She was a registered nurse with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Siliman University.

Fely and her husband, Cezar were high school sweethearts. They were married on April 6, 1958, and went on to have four children: Susie Faith (Ronald) Rivera of Cherry Hill, NJ, Carl (Jean) of Palm Coast, FL, Cheryll Joy Derequito of Palm Coast, FL, and Marie (John) Paserba of Cranberry Twp, PA. They have nine grandchildren: Czar Austin (Cindy) Derequito, Roseline Denuna, Bo Cherie Derequito, Philip Denuna, Natasha Rivera, Nikko Paserba, Arianna Rivera, Miya Paserba, Izac Derequito and six great grandchildren: Mia Briggs, Amari Derequito, Zoe Derequito, Emi Derequito, Kason Briggs, and Adali Derequito.

In 1968, Fely took a nursing job at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She went back to the Philippines in 1971 to be with her family and left again for a job at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, IL in 1975. The family joined her in 1978 and settled in Cherry Hill, NJ. After retiring from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital as an ENT specialist operating room nurse in 1996, she and her husband moved to Palm Coast, FL. Fely was a loyal servant of God and throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God. She loved the church and was a member of Palm Coast Bible Church. She was an avid cook especially with Filipino cuisines. She loved to crochet, knit, and sew. Most of all she loved to garden and go fishing with her husband.

Now that Fely has passed in the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of her physical life on earth, it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her because she has accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. Fely joins her beloved husband Cezar, her parents and her brothers and sisters in heaven.

A funeral service will be held at Palm Coast Bible Church on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Palm Coast Bible Church. An interment will be held at Flagler Palm Memorial Gardens on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 12:00 p.m.
