DR. EDWING DOW, FLAGLER DIES 

Dr. Edwin Dow, retired Baptist minister and former Mayor of Flagler Beach for about 20 years, died at 11:38 last night in the emergency room at Halifax Hospital. 

He was stricken at home and brough to the hospital in a Baggett-McIntosh Funeral Home ambulance. He died soon after arriving at the hospital. He was 85.

Funeral services for Dr. Edwin R. Dow, 85-year-old resident of Flagler Beach was held Wednesday afternoon from the Community Memorial Church in Flagler Beach at 2:30, with Rev. R. W. Dickert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery with Bunnell Masonic Lodge conducting the committing ceremony.

He was in apparently good health until last Friday when he became ill and was sent to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach where he died Saturday night.

Dr. Dow bought property in Flagler Beach in 1914, but did not come to reside there until 1926. He was an evangelist, traveling over the United States and Canada prior to his permanent residence at Flagler Beach.

Dr. Dow was one of the Flagler Beach town commissioners about 14 years and mayor for four years. He was active also in civic and religious work in his home city.

Pallbearers were George Wickline, R. L. McNab, Harry Whetstone, Richard Mosby, Jack Clegg, Otis Magee and Eugene Hart.
