PALM COAST - Dr. Jack Dunn, 89, of Clarendon Court, the first physician and surgeon to practice in Palm Coast, was found murdered in his home Jan. 11.
Dr. Dunn was born in Russia and moved to this area in 1972 from Uniontown, Pa. He was also one of the community's first 100 homeowners. He was a former physician for the Veterans Administration Hospital, Wilkes Barre, Pa., and for the United Mine Workers at Brownsville General Hospital, Uniontown, before moving to Palm Coast.
He was member of the American Medical Association, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and was a board certified surgeon. A graduate of the University of Illinois Medical School, he served his residency in surgery in New York City. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed computers.
Survivors include two sons, Richard, Palm Coast, and Robert, Tuscumbia, Ala.; a daughter, Lora Burns, New York City; a sister, Sonia Gilbert, Boston; and six grandchildren.
