FLAGLER BEACH – Nathan O. “Bud” Durrance, 66, 11 Lantana Ave., a lifelong resident of Flagler County, died Thursday at Veteran’s Hospital, Gainesville, after a brief illness.

Mr. Durrance was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his widow, Armetha, four daughters, Margie Kinney and Doris Baylor, both of Bunnell, Fay Karter, Tallahassee, and Cindy Aycock, Newport, N.C,; a son, Jerry Smith, Flagler Beach; two sisters, Norma Turner, Bunnell, and Johnnie Helms, Tallahassee; two brothers, Horace W. “Custer,” Bluffdale, Utah, and Thomas W., Bunnell; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.




Graveside funeral service for Nathan Omega (Bud) Durrance, 66, who died Thursday at Veterans Hospital, Gainesville, will  be today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at Flagler-Palm Coast Memorial Gardens in Bunnell with Elders Jack and Austin Tilton officiating.

Mr. Durrance was a lifetime resident of Flagler County and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II. He was a retired as a heavy equipment operator of the Flagler County Maintenance Department.

Survivors include his widow, Armetha, Flagler Beach; his mother, Irene Durrance, Bunnell, four daughters, Margie Kinney and Doris Baylor, both of Bunnell, Faye Karter, Tallahassee, and Cindy Aycock, Newport, N.C.; one son, Jerry Smith, The Hammock; two sisters, Norma Turner, Bunnell, and Johnnie Helms, Tallahassee; two brothers Horace W. (Custer), Bluffdale, Utah, and Tommy W., Bunnell; 13 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Craig Funeral Home, Bunnell, is in charge of arrangements.
