John Herbert Fortney "Pappa John", 61 years old, passed unexpectedly and peacefully on Saturday, November 21st, 2015 in Miami, FL of natural causes. John was born on March 28th, 1954 in Alahambra, CA to Herbert and Sarah Fortney.

John H. Fortney is survived by his loving family; his wife, Teri Fortney; his children, Krystal Fortney and Caleb Fortney. He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Fortney. John was also known as "John the pin man" owner of Wild Horse Trading for over twenty years. Currently, he held the position of General Manager and "Beloved Boss" of Rides Taxi Service of Palm Coast, FL; he will be greatly missed. Sunday, December 6th at 4:00 p.m. the family will be opening their doors to friends and family.

All are welcome to join in a final goodbye as we celebrate his life with a sunset service, pot luck style food and a bonfire. Monday, December 7th at noon there will be a small graveside service at Craig Funeral Home, Palm Coast, FL where he will find his final resting place next to Josh.
The family would like to thank Guy Lathrop for his generosity, support and true friendship through the years. They would also like to thank all current and past drivers as well as his St. Augustine family.
