Obituary of Samuel 'Sammy' Joseph Frank

Samuel “Sammy” Joseph Frank, of Palm Coast, FL passed away on January 1, 2021 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born on February 24, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Max and Pearl Frank.

Sammy was a life-long butcher and was highly regarded as the “best in the business.” He started his apprenticing at age 15 and by 17, after having gone to trade school to hone his craft, began his career in Brooklyn. He later worked in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, at Commack Kosher Meats on Long Island, and at other shops before moving to Palm Coast in 1996. He continued his meat cutting career at Winn-Dixie through 2014. An original Brooklyn Dodgers fan, Sammy also loved action and horror movies, Star Trek, and Twilight Zone episodes. He was a tropical fish enthusiast and set up and maintained aquariums throughout his life.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mykel Frank.

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Hinda Frank; their children Lisa Frank, Lowell and his wife Samantha Frank, Rebecca and her husband Shannon Pope; grandchildren, Max and Charlie Frank; Julian, Makayla and Ezra Pope; brother, Lance Frank; and many more relatives and wonderful friends.

Graveside Service will be held on January 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Flagler Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida.
