John "Jack" Gabriel, 80, of Palm Coast, passed away Sunday April 27, 2008 at his residence. A memorial mass celebrating his life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 8, 2008 at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 Central Ave. Flagler Beach. A reception will follow at The Fr. O'Flaherty Hall, with inurnment following at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery Flagler Beach.

Mr. Gabriel was born April 8, 1928 to the late Frederick and Marie (Hucke) Gabriel in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Palm Coast in 2005 from East Brunswick NJ. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Gabriel was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and a former choir member. He enjoyed singing, and reading.

Mr. Gabriel's survivors include his loving wife of 20 years Mary, daughter; Kathryn DeMeo and her husband John of Chatham NJ, two sons; Peter Gabriel and his wife Denise of Palm Coast, Michael Gabriel and his wife Tara of Waddell AZ, stepdaughter; Angela DeStefano and her husband Michael of Mesa AZ, stepson; Robert Finn and his wife Sarah of Evinston, FL, brother; Fred Gabriel of CT., granddaughter; Lauren DeMeo, three grandsons; Eric DeMeo, Christian and Nicholas Gabriel, two step grandsons; Christopher and Joshua Aguirre.
