Among those people are his son Thomas, daughter-in-law Barbara, granddaughters Mackenzie of Endwell, New York and Shara Helland of Texas, and devoted dog, Bailey.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, Judy, in 2010.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Art was a hard working Irishman who dedicated himself to God and family and led a life full of adventure and generosity. He was proud of his service as a Marine Sergeant at 8th and I in Washington, DC as a White House guard. Art loved swimming, bowling, and playing golf and tennis. He was thankful to have had a career that allowed him to travel the world with many interesting experiences. After retirement, he lived a life immersed in beautiful and wonderful friendships.

Arthur George Gannon As a volunteer at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, he became very close to the staff and fellow volunteers. His family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses at Hospice House, and dear friends of Art who cared for him and watched over him like guardian angels. We would also like to thank Dr. Domenic Marini and the entire staff of Palm Coast Cardiovascular for all their care and love. Art will always be remembered as a treasured mentor, teacher, voice of reason, and joyful man with a twinkle in his eye.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 12 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road. S., Flagler Beach.

A Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave. Flagler Beach. Burial will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, 150 Memorial Medical Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32164.

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
