Mr. Sim "Nip" Gilyard, 71, of Bunnell, died Thursday, Feb.15, 2007.

A native of Bunnell he resided there for more than 50 years. He attended A. L. Lewis Elementary School in Jacksonville and George Washington Carver High School in Bunnell. He was employed as a laborer in Ormond Beach and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Gilyard; four daughters, Sheila and Viola of Palm Coast, Linda of Palm Coast and Janice of Bunnell; two sons, Sim of Espanola and Timothy of Palm Coast; three sisters, Betty, Rosemary and Rosemarie, all of Espanola, two brothers, Thomas of Espanola and Robert of Bunnell; 15 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren .

Calling hours will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday (today), at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Services will be held at 2: 15 p.m. Saturday, Feb, 24, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Bunnell, with Pastor Nathaniel Brooks of Deliverance Church of God officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens in Palm Coast.
