THE HAMMOCK – Gilbert L. Harper, 65, The Hammock, a retired salesman, died Monday evening at Coastal Communities Hospital, Bunnell, apparently of a heart attack.

Mr. Harper was born in Great Falls, S.C. and moved to The Hammock a year ago from Greenville, S.C.

He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hejaz Shriners Temple, Greenville, and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Taylor Masonic Lodge, Taylor, S.C.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; two daughters, Barbara Sanders, Lexington, Ky.,, and Judith Dillman, Meridian, Idaho; four sons, Wendall and Wallace, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Douglas, Atlanta, and Jack Greenman, Lexington; a sister, Barbara Murphy, Lake Worth; a brother, Delmas, Great Falls; 10 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren


Graveside funeral service for Gilbert L. Harper, 65, The Hammock, who died Monday, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Flagler Palm Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Robert Stuart, officiating.

Calling hours will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday.
