Paulette Yvette Carillet Harris
Funeral services celebrating the life of Paulette Yvette Carillet Harris, 81, of Bunnell, will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2301 Commerce Parkway, Bunnell with the Rev. Bill Elias officiating. Burial will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends today (Friday) from 4:00 P.M until 7:00 P.M. in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach.
Mrs. Harris went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 1, 2010. She was born in Rockville Center, NY the daughter of the late Paul and Lucie Ferry Carillet and moved to the Hammock of Flagler County at the age of 9. Her father quarried and built the Rocks Motel.
She graduated valedictorian from Bunnell High School in 1947. She graduated from Florida State University with a degree in education and taught math for 5 years. Her enthusiasm for FSU knew no bounds and she would likely give a Seminole war hoop at any time or place. She then owned and operated Harris Appliance and Furniture Store from 1957 until 2004. She was active in the community throughout the years with the Rotary Club of Flagler County, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, sang in the choir, was a former member of the Board of Trustee's and was involved in her Sunday school class. She took her faith seriously and was generous, giving and compassionate to those in need. She had a deep abiding love for animals, especially dogs and cats. She liked to travel and enjoyed trips through GE and Zenith companies.
Preceding her in death was her brother George Carillet.
She is survived and loved by her children, Catherine (Rick) Robinson, Gary (Karen) Harris, Diane Whitt and Kenny Harris, her grandchildren, Stacy (Richard) Bennett, Daniel Dupont, Aprell and Ryan Robinson, Lynn (Jeff) Butler, Ashley Harris, Lindsey (Stephen) Wolfe, Leann Whitt, her great grandchildren, Lydia Powell, Kaitlyn Bennett, Richard Bennett, Reagan Wolfe, her sister-in-law, Ethel Carillet and her children, and her beloved dog, Lad.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Flagler County Humane Society or the First Baptist Church of Bunnell.
Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
