Funeral Mass celebrating the life of John Patrick Healy, 80, Collins Lane, Palm Coast, who passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at the Palmeras Of Palm Coast Assisted Living, will be held Friday, Oct. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pwky., Palm Coast. Burial will follow the services at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach.

His family will receive friends Thursday, from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Mass in the memorial room of the church.

John was born in Carhan Kerry, Ireland, on March 2, 1926, to the late William and Ellen (O'Connor) Healy. John served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander and was a Korean conflict veteran. He worked as a bricklayer for the City of New York, where he was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local Union No. 1.

He retired in 1991. John moved to Palm Coast in 1974, coming from Haverstraw, N.Y. While in Palm Coast, he helped build the Carmelite Monastery in Korona, was a member and usher at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, worked as a volunteer fireman in Palm Coast, a volunteer for the Soup Kitchen in St. Augustine, a 4th Degree Knight for the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7845, and served as the chaplain for the VFW Post No. 8696 for 12 years.

John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Eileen Healy, Palm Coast.

Additional survivors include three sons, Paul John Healy, Jacksonville, Emmett P. and Tasha Healy, Ocala, and Neal T. and Janis Healy, Orlando; brother, James Healy, Ireland; sisters, Eileen Musgrave, Ireland, and Sheila Heslin, Catskill, N.Y. John was preceded in death by his sister, Mary O'Connor.

Donations may be made in memory of John to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pwky., Palm Coast, FL 32164.
