RINGWOOD – Fred P. Hegger, 51, of Skyline Lake, died Thursday at St. Luke’s Hospital in New York City while awaiting open heart surgery.
Born in Germany, Mr. Hegger lived in Paterson before moving to the lake area 11 years ago. He was a plant engineer for the Marijor Company of East Rutherford. A scoutmaster for Boy Scot Troop 76 of Ringwood, he also was a member of St Catherine’s Knights of Columbus Council 6212.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday from the funeral home at 881 Ringwood Ave., Haskell, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at St. Catherine’s R.C. Church at Erskine Lakes. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
He is survived by his wife, the former Hilda Moennighoff; two sons, Michael and Stephen, both at home; a daughter, Miss Petra of California, and his mother, Mrs. Gertrude, of Germany.

Funeral on November 8, from the D’Agostino Funeral Home, 881 Ringwood Ave., Haskell, at 10 a.m. and St. Catherine’s R.C. Chrch at 10:30 a.m.
