PALM COAST -- John A. Henderson II, 75, of Fernmill Lane, a retired custodial engineer for the New York City Board of Education, died Monday at Memorial Hospital- Flagler, Bunnell. 

Mr. Henderson, a Navy veteran of World War II who was a merchant seaman for many years, was born in Manson, N.C., and moved to this area 11 years ago from Queens, N.Y. He was a member of the Masons. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. 

Survivors include his wife, Fannie; two sons, John III, Largo, Md., and Jason, Philadelphia; a daughter, Cynthia Alexander, Atlanta; a sister, Mable James, Portland, Maine; and two grandchildren.
