A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Donald Vincent Hudson Sr. 74 of Palm Coast will be held on Friday, April 4 at 11:00 AM in Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, 915 N. Central Ave. Flagler Beach. Burial with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard will be in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach. Mr. Hudson, a resident of Palm Coast for the past 9 years coming from Deer Park NY, passed away on March 31, 2008 in Florida Hospital Flagler, Palm Coast.
He was born in Brooklyn NY, November 7, 1933 a son of the late Edward Joseph and Agnes Mulligan Hudson. He was a retired electronic production control manager for Vecco Instruments and MCC Components both of Plainview NY and a retired volunteer hook and ladder fireman in New Hyde Park NY. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Hudson was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, where he was a faithful usher at the 9 AM Sunday Mass and a member of the Men's Club. He also was a member of the GIRAFFE Men's Club and DOGGS. He enjoyed yard work and was an avid sports fan. He was a devoted friend to many.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 15 1/2 years Marianna Hudson, devoted father of Anne Marie (James) Zito of Palm Coast, Mary Merritt (Edward) of Merritt Island FL, Elaine Hudson of Cocoa FL, Donald Hudson Jr. of Orlando FL, Robert Hudson (Jane) of Lindenhurst NY, Thomas Hudson (Nancy) of Merritt Island FL, and James Hudson, who preceded him in death in 1994, step-father of Maryanne Meyer of Palm Coast and John Meyer of Beth Page NY, loving grandfather of Steven and Christine Zito, Geoff Hudson, Bailee Hudson, Ashlee Hudson and Johnathon Merritt, beloved brother of Mary Jane Gannon (John) of Naples FL, Rosemarie Hudson of New Hyde Park NY, Carol Anne Jassen (Ralph) of Chicago and Edward Hudson (Marci) of Holtsville NY, beloved brother-in-law of Rosario Cipolla and the late Marie Cipolla and the late Alice and Tom Marino.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
