Ruth M. Hughes, 85, of Williamson Boulevard, a junior high school teacher, died Wednesday at Indigo Manor. 

Mrs. Hughes was born in Bayonne, N.J., and came to this area 25 years ago from Pompano Beach. She was a member of Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, Flagler Beach, and the St. Coleman's Parish, where she was active for 25 years. 

Survivors include a son, Richard; a brother, John McAuley, Whiting, N.J.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
