Francis E. Hunt 84 of Palm Coast, Formerly of North Syarcuse NY passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord on August 24, 2009.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be forever remembered for his kind smile and generous heart. A gentle man, Francis was a totally unselfish role model to all who knew him. He loved to work on cars, garden and do puzzles.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 58 years, Rev. Florence L. Hunt, daughters, Elaine Wackerow ( David) of Baldwinsville NY and Barbara Sasario (Michael) of Liverpool NY, four grandchildren, Kristin Bell (Douglas) Michael Sasario Jr., John Wackerow, and Paul Wackerow, three great grandchildren, Zachery, Alexi and Morgan, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his son Ronald Wesley Hunt.

Francis was born in Lairdsville NY, and served in the US Army during World War II as a member of the 104th Ordinance, earning the World War II Victory Medal. He earned a professional mechanical engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. During his career he worked at General Electric and New Process Gear/Chrysler. He was a member of the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers. In service to his Lord, Francis maintained and drove buses for North Syracuse Baptist Church bus ministry and ministered to seniors at North Central Assembly of God, North Syracuse. He was a member of the Gideons and a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Palm Coast where he participated in Bible studies.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 27 from 4:00 to 7:00 in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM in the Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 99 Old Kings Road N. Palm Coast Burial will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Evangel Temple Assembly of God.
