Obituary of Margaret Mary Janus

Margaret Mary Janus, 83, passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 24, 2021, at The Crossings of Bon Air, Midlothian, VA.

Margaret was born October 18,1937 in Detroit, Michigan, to Chester and Irene Szemborski. She and her husband, Marvin, moved the family to Ormond Beach, Florida from Dearborn Heights, Michigan in 1970 to join the family business. Margaret loved the life they built in Florida which included volunteering in her children’s schools, working in the office at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church and making many wonderful life-long friends. One of her favorite things to do was to go on long Sunday drives with her husband. In 2007, Margaret moved to Midlothian, VA to be near her daughter and her family.

Margaret was the devoted wife for 43 years to Marvin Thomas Janus, who passed in May 2004. Margaret and Marvin were true soul mates, and a wonderful example of love and commitment to their four children: Jacqueline Janus, Punta Gorda, FL; Jeffrey Janus (Maria), Roswell, GA; Cynthia Kloc (Daniel), Fishers, IN; Carolyn Park (Michael), Midlothian, VA. An adoring and loving grandmother, Margaret was abundantly proud of all 7 grandchildren: Alexander Janus (Megan), Olivia Janus (Faraz), Samantha Thames (Chad), Megan Kloc (Josh), Collin Kloc, Abigail Park and Thomas Park. She was preceded in death by her three siblings: Chester Szemborski, Alfred Szemborski, and Barbara Schultz.

A Catholic Memorial graveside service will be held August 7, 2021 at 2:00pm at Craig Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach, Florida. The family welcomes friends to the visitation 30 minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to: Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church 915 North Central Avenue Flagler Beach, Florida 32136
