A funeral mass for Pierre “Tibo” Labonte Jean 81, of Palm Coast will be celebrated on Thursday, September 24, 2:00PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 12:00PM until time of the mass. Entombment will follow the mass at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach.
Pierre passed away on September 17, 2015. He was born on January 15, 1934 in Moreau-Liancourt, Haiti to the late Jeanity D. and Anna A. Jean Paul.
Pierre studied Agriculture in Germany for 1 ½ years and then spent 2 years in Paris as a student and then went to New York to continue his studies. He was the senior order poster for Benberger and Son Import/Export Company, retiring in 1997. In 1999 he and his wife moved to the Palm Coast area from Brooklyn, NY. He was a life-long member the L’Alpha Et L’Omega Soleil Masonic Lodge in Brooklyn, NY.
Pierre loved working in his garden and going grocery shopping making sure the fridge was stocked with everything that his guests enjoy eating. His greatest love was having his family and friends at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Pierre was preceded in death by several brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Lily; sons, Greg Jean of Brooklyn, NY., Pierre Richard Jean of Brooklyn, NY., daughter, Marjorie and her husband Alain Charles of Temecula, CA; brother, Delpe Jean of West Palm Beach; sister Fleurie Jean of Haiti; grandchildren, Niala, Brian, Tileah, Briana, Reschard, Jaiden and Justin.
Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
