PALM COAST -- Alan W. Kanost, 72, of Biddle Place, a retired air traffic controller, died Thursday at home.
Mr. Kanost, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, was born in Richmond, Ind. He moved to this area in 1996 from St. Augustine. He was an artist who also enjoyed astrology.
Survivors include a son Wesley, Jacksonville; a stepson, Robert Alman, Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Karen Collins, Bunnell; a stepdaughter, Joyce Brasher, Knoxville; a brother, David, New Orleans; two sisters, Vicki Layman, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Virginia Young, Granada Hills, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren.
