Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Deacon Charles S. Karr, 85, Palm Coast, who died Sat., Sept. 29, 2007, at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, will be 10:30 a.m. Fri., Oct. 5, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Deacon Karr moved to Palm Coast in 1977 from Boston, Mass. He was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Boston to the late Charles and Mark Brika Karcauskas. He was a Navy chief petty officer veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
He was an ordained deacon serving in the Diocese of St. Augustine at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Santa Maria del Mar Catholic churches. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7845, VFW Post 8696, DAV, American Legion, and the Italian War Veterans.
He was predeceased on Aug. 7, 2007, by his wife, Florence.
Surviving are four daughters, Loretta K. Anderson and her husband, Carl, Lebanon, Conn., Theresa Guthrie, and her husband, Paul, Concord, Mass., Susan Burns, and her husband, Kevin, Searsmont, Maine, and Claudia Karr, Palm Coast; son, Gregory Karr, and his wife, Judith, Dover, Mass.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Lillian Lepore and Florence Hennesey, both of Boston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the building fund of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
