Joseph Larimore (Larry) King, 86, of Bunnell, died Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. His wife Marilyn and his son Bo were at his side.
Mr. King was born January 28, 1926 in Flagler Beach, a son of Thomas Larimore and Carrie Mercer King. Larry attended Bunnell High School and graduated from the Carlisle Military Academy in South Carolina. He had worked for his father at King Lumber Company; then he and his brother, Herschel, owned and operated King Brothers Farms in Bunnell for many years. He retired in 1986. Larry was a member of the Community Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and skeet shooting. He was a life member of the NRA and a former member of the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Varn, whom he married August 9, 1975, two sons, Dennis L. "Bo" (Ronee) King of Flagler Beach, and Thomas L (Gaye Ann) King of Vero Beach; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Jo King, and his brother Herschel King.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Community Baptist Church, 956 South Old Dixie Highway in Bunnell, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Mark Somers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's name to the Community Baptist Church, 956 South Old Dixie Highway, Bunnell, FL 32110, or Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, 150 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL, 32164.
Arrangements are in the care and trust of the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home in Flagler Beach.
