Fanonda Chambers Leach was born April 29, 1917 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late John Wesley Chambers and the late Mary Williams Chambers. She departed this life peacefully on Saturday, June 19, 2010. She was the second of five children born of this union.
Fanonda was joined in holy matrimony to Samuel David Craft. Of this union, five children were born. Mattie, Dotnella, Samuel Jr., Jannie and Betty. Three of her children preceded her in death; Mattie, Samuel Jr. and Betty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four of her siblings. On November 17, 1967, she remarried Luther Leach. He preceded in death on March 2, 1993.
She then moved from Brooklyn, NY to Palm Coast in late 1993. She enjoyed going to church and being involved with the senior citizen center three days a week. She particularly enjoyed playing board games. Fanonda leaves to treasure her memory to daughters, Jannie Lynch (Joe) of Colorado Springs, CO; Dotnella Singleteary (James) of Palm Coast, FL; step-daughter, Wanda Wallace (John) of Bremo Bluff, VA; sister-in-law, Beulah Chambers of Harrisburg, PA; 29 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 11:00AM at Palm Coast United Methodist Church. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 10:00AM until the time of the service at the church.
Interment will follow the service at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
