Mrs. Mary Ann Lewis, widow of the late W. H. Lewis of Flagler Beach, died at her home on Sunday afternoon following an illness of several years’ duration.
Mrs. Lewis was 85 years of age and was one of the pioneer residents of Flagler Beach. She and her husband were the first residents there.
Funeral services were held at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the graveside in Hope Cemetery with Rev. C. M. Samford, of Daytona Beach, former pastor of the local Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Carl Davis and Son Funeral Home of Palatka.
Pallbearers were T. E. Holden, George Moody, C. A. Parker, George E. Wickline, J. M. Tweed, and S. L. Nickell.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. L. B. Moore of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Hiestand and Mrs. Dora Newman of Kinmondy, Illinois; two step-sons, Willie Lewis of Centralia, Illinois and George Lewis of Fullerston, California. Also one niece, Sophie Lewis, of Centrailia, Ill.
