William Walter Lindsey, 80, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Coquina Center in Ormond Beach, FL. 

Bill, as he was known to his family and friends, retired as a sergeant from the U.S. Park Police in Washington, DC after 20 years of service. He returned to the federal police agency as a civilian, retiring again after 12 more years.

Besides his family, another of Bill's passions was restoring Ford Mustangs. He restored and sold two 1971 Mustangs which led him to his pride and joy, a laser red 1996 Ford Cobra SVT.

Bill was born on May 20, 1936 in Washington, DC to the late Adam James and Florence Mabel Lindsey (Seitz). In 1956-57, Bill served in the U.S. Navy with the VF-74 Fighter Squadron, an aviation unit on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, known by their insignia, "Be-Devilers." 

After living in White Plains, MD for 32 years, Bill and his wife, Patty, moved to Palm Coast, FL in 2004. Bill was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia "Patty"; his son, Mike Lindsey of Palm Coast, FL; his daughter, Cathy Lindsey of Collierville, TN; his grandson, John-Michael Lindsey of Salisbury, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his brother, Robert Lindsey, in October 2015.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 10 am to 12 noon at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, FL. A funeral service will follow immediately at 12 noon in the chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Humane Society of the United States.
