Jim was born on September 22nd, 1928 in Bronx, New York, the son of James G. and Catherine C. Long. He was the devoted and loving husband of Barbara A. Long.

He is survived by his children: daughter, Kathleen (Robert) Messing of Fredericksburg, VA.; son. William P. (Paula) Long of Doylestown, PA.; and daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Edmond) Ganucheau of Hamden, CT. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 He was pre-ceded in death by his son, James G. Long Jr. of Baltimore, MD., an infant daughter, Teresa Long, and his brother, William F. Long of Pittsburgh, PA.

Jim was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was also an active member of the New Jersey Social Club where he had many dear friends and a long-time member of the Elks.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast with entombment to follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach. Calling hours will be today (Thursday, December 30, 2010) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach.
