Funeral services for John (Jack) Theodore Luke III, 76, of Palm Coast, Florida, who passed away on Monday, October 27, 2008 in Ormond Beach, will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach. Burial will follow the service at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach. His family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Jack was born on June 13, 1932 in Rochester, New York to the late Clarence E. and Marie Catherine (Kedian) Luke. Jack served in the United States Navy and was awarded several service medals. Following his military service, he relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1958. Shortly thereafter, he began a 34 year management career with Toledo Scales later Dickey Scales, retiring in 1994.
In 1998, he and his wife, Jane, relocated to Palm Coast. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Jack enjoyed social networking with his family and friends, fishing, bowling, camping, hunting, archery, and was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lorraine M. Luke and her husband Lee Tracey of Keller, Texas, and Lisa Ann Kaminski of Jacksonville; his son John (Terry) T. Luke and his wife Jessica of Jacksonville; his brother Clarence R. Luke and his wife Lucy of Palm Coast; his three brothers-in-law, Steve Englert of Palm Coast, George Englert of Terra Ceia Island, Florida and Alfred Englert of Rochester, NY; his nine grandchildren, Marcella, Spencer, Ashley, Chris, Christian, Tyler, Cameron, Joshua, and Jourdan.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jane Englert Luke, and his sister Florence E. Walters.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jack to the Hospice of Volusia-Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32119.
