PALM COAST - Robert Macaluso, 59, of Rocking Horse Drive, a retired school teacher for East Meadows High School, Long Island, N.Y., died Saturday at the Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. 

Mr. Macaluso was born in the Bronx, N.Y., and moved to this area in 2004 from Long Island. He was a member of Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, Flagler Beach, and the Italian American Club of Palm Coast. 

He was a graduate of Farmingdale College and Adelphi University, and received a master's degree from Stoneybrook State University of New York. He enjoyed camping and fishing. 

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Donna; a son, Jason, Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; and a brother, Donald, Wading River, N.Y.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.



Funeral Mass for Robert Macaluso, 59, Palm Coast, will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church, Flagler Beach. Entombment will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today (Tuesday) in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Flagler Beach, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
