Memorial service for Florene H. Marteney, 78, a resident of Palm Coast since 1989, who passed away Saturday, August 12, 2006, at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 21, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 156 Florida Park Dr., Palm Coast, with Pastor Jeff Deyoe officiating.

Florene was born in Benbush, W. Va., on September 29, 1927, to the late Calvin Kiefer and Margaret (Hoffman) Kiefer, and moved to this area from Yardley, Pa. Mrs. Marteney graduated from Parsons High School in Parsons, W. Va., where she was a leader and majorette in the high school band. She went on to enjoy music the rest of her life.

Mrs. Marteney was a member of Palm Harbor Golf Club and Trinity Presbyterian Church, participating in arts and crafts and being a strong arm in the Trinity Linus Project for hospitalized children. Enjoying her life as a homemaker, she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ross; two sons, David, and his wife, Jessie, Palm Coast, and Robert, Tampa; one granddaughter, Kathy, and her husband, Michael Chevrette; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and David, all of Southington, Conn.
