Ross E. Marteney

Ross E. Marteney, 98 of Palm Coast, passed away November 21, 2022 at Tuscan Gardens of Palm Coast.

Mr. Marteney was born March 18, 1924 in Montrose, West Virginia. He was the son of Elwood and Ada Hyre Marteney.

After graduating from high school, he attended Davis & Elkins College, and then joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Europe, and was honorable discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. After his discharge, went back to Davis & Elkins College receiving his bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He joined US Steel where he worked for 33 years. After his retirement, he and his wife moved to Palm Coast in 1987, he was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, golfing and was a Free Mason. Mr. Marteney enjoyed watching college basketball and football.

He is survived by his son, Dave (Jessie) Marteney of Palm Coast; a granddaughter, Kathryn (Michael) Chervette of Connecticut, and two great-grandsons, Matthew and David.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Florene Marteney, and his son, Robert Marteney.

Family and friends will be received Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, where services will take place at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens.
