Martino, 90, of Palm Coast, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. He was buried on Thursday, February 25, 2010 after a short service at his request at Flagler Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach, Florida.

Louie was born on October 10, 1919, in Lorain, Ohio. Music was his first love and he began playing music at the age of 8; first the accordion and then the trombone. Following high school in Lorain, he enlisted in the Army where he spent three years in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska during World War II. Following the war, while playing music for the service in Miami, he met and married Betty Kamper. They returned to Louie's hometown Lorain, where Louie learned the plumbing trade and began a family, the first arrival was his son Keith and then Candace. In 1952, they relocated their family to West Palm Beach, Florida, where Louie continued working as a plumber and to play his music with numerous bands. Louie was also an artist and wood craftsman, leaving his family many lasting memories.

After their last daughter Lisa was born, they once again returned to Ravenna, Ohio where the family spent eight years. In 1969, the family moved back to West Palm Beach where Louie became a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #630. Throughout the years he continued to play in a jazz band for many audiences. In 1983, following his retirement as a plumber, he and Betty moved to Flagler Beach and finally to Palm Coast, Florida. Louie continued to play his music until 2006 when health problems hindered his ability to play. He passed peacefully away in his own home with the loving support of his family and comfort of Vitas Hospice.

Louie is survived by his wife Betty and their three children, Keith Martino (Palm Coast, FL), Candace Martino (St. Augustine, FL) and Lisa Garren Munn (Pigon Forge, TN).
