PALM COAST - Joseph Thomas Massetti, 81, of Patchogue Place, a retired accountant for ADT Security Systems, died Wednesday at home. Mr. Massetti, a Marine Corp veteran of World War II, who fought in Iwo Jima and received two Purple Hearts, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He moved to this area in 1985 from Rosedale, N.Y. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696 and the Company of Fife and Drummers of Connecticut.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas, Massapequa Park, N.Y., and Daniel, Massapequa, N.Y.; a sister, Mamie Gallery, Rockville Centre, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Florida Hospital Memorial HospiceCare, 770 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174.

Craig-Flagler Palms, Flagler Beach, is in charge.

 

A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Joseph Thomas Massetti, 81, Palm Coast, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway, Palm Coast. Entombment will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach.
