A funeral mass celebrating the life of Osvaldo "Ozzie" H. Massie, 89, of Palm Coast, will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 1:00PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Entombment to follow with military honors at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 1:00-3:00PM and 5:00-7:00PM at the church. Ozzie passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Florida Hospital Flagler.

He was born on June 2, 1921 in Alpha, NJ to Astore and Amalia Massie (Fornaciari). As a young man he served in the U.S. Army as a Tech Sergeant during World War II.

He and his wife moved to the Palm Coast area from Phillipsburg, NJ in 1982. Ozzie was very active in the community being a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, life member of the VFW Post 8696 and a life member of the American Legion where he served as the chaplain for 20 years. Ozzie enjoyed boating, golfing, bike riding and reading.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Italo and Rolando.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna; daughters, Sandra Massie of Atlanta, GA; Brenda Massie and her husband Toby Schuh of NYC; son, David and his wife Christina Massie of Santa Rosa, CA; sister, Vilma Righi of Bethlehem, PA and brother, Gene Golini of Malvern, PA. Mr. Massie also had six grandchildren, Gina, Carrie, Ella, Anthony, Jonathan and Cameron; and two great-granddaughters, Charlie and Landry.

He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32164.
