FORENCE HERRING MAYFIELD
Funeral services celebrating the life of Florence Herring Mayfield, 91, of Palm Coast, will be held on Friday (this afternoon) at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach with Rev. David Aucermann officiating. Interment will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today (Friday) from 11:30 AM until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mayfield, a resident of Palm Coast since 2003, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her residence. She was a former resident of Charlotte, NC for 50 years prior to moving to St. Augustine in 1996. Mrs. Mayfield was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC and the Palm Coast Women's Club. She enjoyed bridge, reading, was an avid shopper and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband Leon Mayfield Jr. in 2006.
Surviving are her daughter Deborah M. Rowe of Palm Coast; her sons, Leon Mayfield Jr. of Keystone Heights, FL and Tony Mayfield of St. Augustine; her sister Mamie Vance of Austin, TX; three grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
