Gerald J. McManus
Gerald J. McManus passed away on June 30, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Yonkers, N.Y. He was born on December 20, 1933 to William O. and Lydia A. McManus.
He grew up in Yonkers, NY where he attended St. Peter's School. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1951 and Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army (Korea) from 1952-1955. He worked in public accounting for Haskins and Selles, C.P.A.'s becoming a C.P.A. in 1964.
Subsequently, he worked in financial management for non-profit organizations including St. Barnabas Hospital and St. Patrick's Home for the Aged and Infirm in the Bronx and Cardinal McCloskey Services in White Plains, NY. He retired at the end of 1998 and continued to be active in volunteer work with the Cardinal Cook Guild.
He was predeceased by his brothers William E. of Yonkers, N.Y. and Kevin M. McManus of Palm Coast, Florida. He is survived by his nephews Robert J. McManus of Bethesda, MD. And Stephen P. McManus of Palm Coast, Florida, his sister-in-law Regina M. McManus of Palm Coast, Florida and his grandnieces Kate and Madeleine McManus of Bethesda.
Private Christian burial arrangements were handled by Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home of Palm Coast, Florida.
