Richard “Dick” Lee Mehl, age 67, of Palm Coast, FL, is safely home in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Dick entered into God’s presence on February 17, 2010, surrounded by the warmth of his family’s love, after a battle with cancer.
Dick was born to Tom and Midge Mehl in Alliance, OH on December 8, 1942. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and Kent State University, where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. After graduation, he had a 30 year career at the Ohio Bell Telephone Company where he held several management positions. Dick was a member of the Lion’s Club, and actively served in the Hudson Community Chapel as well as the Flagler Beach Community Memorial Church. His interests included golf, fishing, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Midge.
He is survived by his father, Thomas P. Mehl of Saint Augustine, FL; wife of 42 years, Bobbie, of Palm Coast, FL; son Chris of Raleigh, NC; daughter Bobbi (Dan) Coleman, and granddaughters Emma and Anna of Kalamazoo, MI; brother Bob (Sue) Mehl of Palm Coast, FL; five nephews, and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at 11:00 AM in Community Memorial Church 915 S. Daytona Ave, Flagler Beach with Rev. Bill Elias officiating. Entombment will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 22 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S. Flagler Beach FL.
