PALM COAST - JoAnn Merenda, 78, of Casper Court, a native of Williamsburg, Pa., died Thursday at Memorial Hospital-Ormond Beach. 

Mrs. Merenda, a homemaker, moved to the area in 1972 from Milford Conn. She and her late husband were the 35th family to establish a home in Palm Coast. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, Palm Coast Italian-American Club, where she was a founding member, and the Deborah Heart and Lung Association. 

Survivors include a son, Richard, Milford; two daughters, Joanne Rogers, Bunnell, and Karen Caine, Gainesville; a brother, Russell Mollica, Manchester, Conn.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
