Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Joseph Montalchi, Sr., 90, of Palm Coast who died February 13, 2010 at his home will be held Friday, February 26,2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

Joe was born in Vasto, Italy and moved to Palm Coast in 1977 from North Bergen, NJ. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Lifetime member of the VFW, Elks Club in NJ, and The Italian American Club Palm Coast. Joe enjoyed His Family, Cycling, and supporting The Veterans.

He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, he received 3 purple hearts, a Bronze Star and various other accommodations. Joe was involved in 3 invasions, North Africa, Sicily and in the first wave at Utah Beach.

He was predeceased by his wife, Frances in 2001. He is survived by his son, Joseph Montalchi Jr.; daughter, Carol Pizzuto; sister, Julia Santoro; in-laws, Elsie Montalchi, Sonny & Liz Celauro; and many nephews and nieces.

Donations may be made in Joe's name to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler County, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32127.

The family of Mr. Montalchi entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
