MORRIS, RICHARD E. - Funeral service for Richard E. "Dick." Morris, 63, Palm Coast, who died peacefully Monday Sept. 5, 2005, at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Flagler Auditorium with the Rev. Billy White as celebrant. Graveside service will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.

Dick was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Covington, Ky., to Milton and Alberta Morris. He received his B.S. from Eastern Kentucky University and was a graduate of University of Georgia Chamber School. Dick was a Kentucky Colonel and member of many civic organizations as well as a former executive director of the Boy Scouts.

He was a resident of Palm Coast for over 15 years. Dick served as executive director of Flagler County Chamber of Commerce from 1990 until his death, and was instrumental in many initiatives, including Workforce Development, Enterprise Flagler, Florida Association of Chamber Professionals, United Way and the building of the new Chamber of Commerce facility on which Dick recently broke ground as his last official duty.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 42 years, Terri; daughter, Julie Menendez and her husband, John; son, Sgt. Rich Morris and his wife, Ginger; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrea, Nathan, Emily Grace, Alex and Joshua; - sisters, Sandy Heatherly, Sherri Blu and Judy McClellan; brother David Mor­ris; and brother-in- law, Jim Groves.

Memorial donations requested to Hurricane Relief charities c/o The Salvation Army.
