Delphina “Del” V. Nelson passed away on July 6, 2013 at the age of 83. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies on April 19, 1930 to the late Percival Lewis and Violet Mae Rhoden.
Del worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for many years. In 1996 she and her husband moved to the Palm Coast area from Mt. Vernon, NY. She was a very loving, giving and devout woman who attended Palm Coast United Methodist Church and volunteered in her church ministry for the sick and prepared communion on Sundays.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Nelson, in 2011.
Survivors include her children: Marlon Miller, Paul Nelson, Angela Nelson, Paul Miller, Karen Ann Harris-Miller, Darren Davis, Regina Gibson, Jabell Hamilton, Sherron Hanson, Valerie Ramos, Brenda Rheaume and Patricia Thelwell, as well as 25 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, July 13, 2013, 12:00PM at Palm Coast United Methodist Church. Friends may visit on Friday, from 6:00-8:00PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd South Flagler Beach.
Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the Alzheimers Association.
