V. J. NOVAK DIES AT 81

KORONA – Valentine j. Novak, 81, a retired farmer who had been living here sine 1917, died early today at his home.
A native of Warsaw, Poland, Mr. Novak was a member of the Woodmen of the World and St. Mary’s Catholic Church here.
He is survived by his widow, Frances K., four sons, seven daughters, 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
His sons are B.J., of St. Augustine; E. P. of Gilcrest, Ore,; R. D., of Dunnellon, and F. A. of Detroit. His daughters are Mrs. Martha Zysk, Erie, Pa.; Mrs. Rose Baker, Lansing, Mich.; Mrs. Helen Keefe, Gilchrest, Ore.; Mrs. Katherine Kuhn, Holly Hill; Mrs. Mamie Croscin, Daytona Beach; Mrs. Emelie Crane, Jacksonville Beach and Mrs. Sophia Smegielski, Korona.
Baggett-McIntosh of Daytona Beach is in charge.

Valentine John Novak, 81, and a pioneer resident of this area, died Monday morning at his home in Korona following an illness of three years.
Mr. Novak was born in Poland, coming to the United States 64 years ago. He came to Flagler County in 1917, engaging in farming until he retired about 15 years ago.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Mary’s Church in Korona, with Father McKeifer of St. Augustine officiating. Bagwell-McIntosh of Daytona Beach is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers are John Cyzycki, Mike Mikulka, Jerry Slovak, John Kozak, Stanley Smigielski, and Barney Trojan.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Frances Novak; seven daughters, Mrs. Martha Zysk, Erie, Pa.: Mrs. Rose Baker, Lansing, Mich.: Mrs. Helen Keefe, Gilchrist, Ore.: Mrs. Mamie Croscin, Daytona Beach; Mrs. Katharine Kuhn, Holly Hill; Mrs. Emily Crane, Jacksonville Beach; Mrs. Sophie Smigielski, Korona. Four sons, B. J., St. Augustine; Ed P., Gilchrist, Oregon; Ralph, Dunnellon, Fla.; Florian, Detroit, Mich.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
