PALM COAST -- Thelma N. Padgett, 87, of Commander Court, a retired housemother for the University of Illinois, died Monday at Coquina Nursing Center, Ormond Beach. 

Mrs. Padgett was born in Oklahoma and moved to this area five years ago from Tower Hill, Ill. 

Survivors include a daughter, Tilla M. Richardson, Palm Coast; a stepson, Kenny Padgett, Decatur, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Melinda Sprackling, Florida, and Barbara Moreau, Robinson, Ill.; a sister, LaMerle, Jacobs, Anaheim, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
