The family will receive friends in the memorial room of the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.

The sunset of Ashton U. Patterson was on Saturday, September 10, 2011. His sunrise was December 16, 1922 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. He was preceded in death by his parents Medora and James Patterson, as well as his two brothers, Excel and Guyland.

He immigrated to the United States in 1955 with wife Juanita and daughter Pauline. After the birth of his son Patrick, he moved his family to Hollis, Queens, NY where another son Paul was born. He has five adoring grand-daughters, Nydia, Sabrina, Lia, Marlina, and Caleigh whom he adored passionately.

Ashton, a quiet man who loved music, was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He worked with the New York City Transit Authority for 28 years where he made many friends. After moving to Florida, he happily reunited with those friends who had moved here ahead of him. Before moving himself, in 1995, he was an active member of the St. Pascal Baylon Parish. He became a member of the Men's Club in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and he also gave his services as an usher at the masses there. "Boobie", as one of his sons called him, will be greatly missed as he rests happily in the glory of God.

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
