FLAGLER BEACH - Helena M. Pet-Brouse, 85, of North 12th Street, who retired as an elementary school teacher in Pennfield School District in Michigan, died Tuesday at home.

Mrs. Pet-Brouse was born in Leiden, The Netherlands, and came here in 1983 from Battle Creek, Mich. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the Conservancy of Music in The Hague and earned her master's degree from Western Michigan University. A gifted soprano, she also enjoyed painting and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband of 16 years, S. Bernard; a son, Willem Pet, Durham, N.C.; two daughters, Cecelia Boyer, Livonia, Mich., and Julia Pet-Armacost, Cape Canaveral; a stepson, David Brouse; two step­daughters, Susan Gordon, and Bonnie Coxhead; a sister, Joke Meyer van-Zijp, Almersbach, Germany; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
