Bruce S. Pierce
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bruce S. Pierce, 71, of Palm Coast, who died July 30, 2008, at Florida Hospital Flagler, will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. South, Flagler Beach.
Mr. Pierce was born December 28, 1936 in Waterbury, VT, the eldest son of the late Donald C. and Glendola (Dolly) S. pierce. He was a graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans, VT, class of 1955. Mr. Pierce served in the U.S. Anny and worked for many Years maintaining signals for the Central Vermont Railway in southern New England.
He lived in Ludlow, MA for most of his working career prior to retiring to Palm Coast in 1996; Mr. fierce was a generous man of many interests. He traded stocks; played master level chess; donated much time and talent to Habitat for Humanity, including serving as the President of the local chapter in Springfield, MA. Be traveled to such places as Belize and Africa and donated a kidney to a lady at his church. He was known for his great sense of humor and lively wit. Mr. Pierce was an active member of Palm Coast United Methodist church at the time of his death.
He is survived by his loving wife Judith C. Pierce of Palm Coast; two daughters; Kealie Pierce of Montgomery, AL; Melissa Arnold and husband Ryan of Monson, MA, son; Scott Pierce and wife Michelle of Kingman, AZ, five grandchildren; Emily, Alex, Eli Pierce, and Melinda, Ryan Arnold, two brothers; D. Gregory Pierce and wife Paula Kane of St. Albans, VT, Stephen J. Pierce of Essex Junction, VT, several nieces and nephews and many extended family members.
