Rudolph “Rudy” A. Pinzone passed away on July 4, 2013 at the age of 82. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 18, 1931 one of twelve children by Anthony Pinzone and Angelina (nee) Saitta, Sicilian Immigrants.
He went to Grover Cleveland High School and was a member on the soccer team and went undefeated for all city championship, upon graduating he was voted class comedian and continued to make everyone smile with his “Corny” jokes. He then worked with his father as a stone mason, then entered the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Upon discharge he met and fell in love with Rosemarie (nee) Caggiano and they were married May 1954. She passed away November 2006 and he fell in depression. Rudy worked for the New York City Housing Authority for 32 years and retired December 1987 at age 56. He and his wife moved from Elmont, Long Island and relocated to Palm Coast in 1989.
They raised two daughters, Joanne Gelo, Charles and Antoinette Hollingsworth. They were blessed with two grandchildren, Danielle Bean, Scott and Joseph DiPuma who delighted them with two great-grandchildren, Kieran Bean and Emma Rose DiPuma.
Rudy was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus Council #7845 and loved playing golf with them. He had a passion for crossword puzzles and was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, 10:30Am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Friends may visit on Tuesday, July 9 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
