Amelia A. Portal, 94, of Flagler Beach, passed away peacefully at Flagler Health & Rehabilitation in the arms of her son. She was born on June 10, 1924 in Anelhe, Portugal to the late Amadeu Afonso and Ana Vaz.

She and her late husband moved to the United States in 1975. In 1992 they moved to Flagler Beach from New Haven, CT. Amelia was affiliated with the Portugese American Club in New Haven, CT and Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church. She was a devoted catholic woman who watched masses on TV several times a day, she also loved to entertain, but her greatest love in life was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Amelia was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Adelino R. Portal in 2016.

Survivors include her sons, Joseph (Isabel) Portal, Felisberto (Cecilia) Portal; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Friends may visit on Monday, August 13, 1:00-3:00PM in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South. A funeral service will begin at 3:00PM. Entombment to follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
